NSW:Goat farmer found dead on his property
SYDNEY, April 28 AAP - A man missing after setting out to muster goats has been found
dead on his rugged property in NSW's far southwest.
The 52-year-old set off from a homestead on Ivanhoe Road, Balranald, with two other
people at 1pm (AEST) on Wednesday.
The trio split up and spread across the property on motorbikes to muster the goats.
The man failed to return home that night and the other two began searching for him
in rugged terrain only accessible on foot or by motorbike.
They were joined by a police trail bike unit, volunteer rescue crews and local people
but the search was abandoned about 9.55pm.
It was resumed shortly before 11am (AEST) on Thursday and the man was discovered about
two hours later, about five kilometres into bushland.
He was next to his motorbike which appeared to have crashed, police said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner outlining the full circumstances of his death,
they said.
