Fed: Anti-terror judge to investigate al-Qaeda links in Aust
The French judge interrogating terrorist suspect WILLIE BRIGITTE will reportedly visit
Australia to investigate international al-Qaeda links.
The Weekend Australian says JEAN-LOUIS BRUGUIERE will examine BRIGITTE'S alleged al-Qaeda
links, as well as those involving convicted Perth bomb plotter JACK ROCHE.
The paper says the judge has already been briefed about ROCHE, who has offered to testify
against key alleged terrorists in foreign courts.
ROCHE claims to have information on CHRISTIAN GANCZARSKI, one of those allegedly responsible
for bombing a mosque in Tunisia in 2002, killing 21 people.
Judge BRUGUIERE has told the newspaper he is interested in cases aside from BRIGITTE'S,
including those involving Jemaah Islamiah.
ROCHE'S appeal against his nine-year jail term, handed down for conspiring to blow
up the Israeli embassy in Canberra in 2000, will be heard next month.
The paper says he has been interviewed by Australian Federal Police and produced, but
not signed, witness statements for Indonesian and German authorities, as well as JUDGE
BRUGUIERE.
